On Friday, March 24th we will be having graduation photos for Kindergarten and 6th Grade ONLY. I have attached a copy of the picture packet. You should have already received the packet that was sent home. Your student will be wearing cap and gowns that are provided by lifetouch.

2017 Utah State Elementary Chess Tournament
Saturday, March 18th 2017 Ernest L. Wilkinson Student Center, Third Floor 1 Campus Drive, Brigham Young University Provo, UT 84604
Eligibility: Tournament is open to Utah students in grades K-6. Schedule: Six round “Swiss”. No eliminations.
Time control is 30 minutes with 5 second delay for all rounds. First round begins at 8:30am. Round 1 pairings should be up by 7:30am.

Where: Sierra Bonita Elementary - Enter through the main entrance (bring phone to snap a photo in the photo booth).
What: Come enjoy a night of Jedi training, obstacle courses, photo booth and wookie cookies!
"The force will be STRONG" and a lot of fun at this party!

Hi Parents of 4th - 6th Grade Students! K12 Student Innovator of the Year is an innovation competition for students in grades 4 - 12. All you have to do to compete is invent a novel (but useful) product, system, or service, and come ready to pitch it to a panel of judges (think of this like a Shark Tank experience). There are 3 categories: elementary (grades 4 - 6), junior high (grades 7 - 9), and high school (grades 10 - 12). Over $6000 in cash prizes will be awarded.
We will be offering an after school coding class for 4th through 6th graders only. It will be a four-week course beginning March 7th. It will be in the North Computer Lab. The dates will be March 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th from 3:30-4:30pm. It will be a beginning course. The course cost is $19. You my pay online at ce.uvu.edu/youth or call 801-863-8012.

The Elementary State Chess Championship will be held at BYU this year. On Mar 18, young chess players from all over the state of Utah will join together to challenge each other. Several hundred players are expected, from nearly one hundred schools. Dozens will bring home trophies, after playing six games with others in their own grade. Registration is open to all K
MMHS Baseball Players enjoyed going to several classes at Sierra Bonita to read to students.
