Birthday Lunch Date Change

Submitted by tiffany.manwaring on Tue, 03/22/2016 - 12:53

Dear Parents,

If your child has a birthday in August and you received a notice about sharing lunch with them this coming Friday, it will be rescheduled to FRIDAY, APRIL 15th. As a result of special sound systems put in place for our upcoming school musical this week and next, we will not be able to use the lunchroom for this purpose on the regularly scheduled date (Friday, March 25th.) The August birthday lunch will be held with the April birthdays on the same day. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the office. Thank you in advance and we apologize for any inconvenience to your schedules.

Thank you!

4th & 5th Grade Music Class Information

Submitted by tiffany.manwaring on Thu, 03/17/2016 - 14:37

Hi Parents of 4th and 5th Grade!

Hello from Sierra Bonita's Music classroom!Beginning the week of April 11th, I will be teaching our 4th and 5th grades to play the recorder. If you do not own a recorder, your student may borrow one from the Music room or order one through the front office. These orders are high quality instruments and will cost $5. Payment can be made to Mrs. Worthen at the front office by March 25th.

I recommend that students do not bring a recorder purchased at a retail or dollar store. Recorders purchased from these stores are wonderful toys, however, they have poor tone, squeak and break easily. Your student may feel discouraged when they try to play them.

Thank you for supporting the Arts in our school!

SEP / Student Led Conferences - TOMORROW, Wednesday, March 16th

Submitted by tiffany.manwaring on Tue, 03/15/2016 - 13:28

SEP / Student Led Conferences – Wednesday, March 16

SEP conferences on March 16 will be Student Led Conferences. Student Led Conferences provide opportunities for students to make learning active as they share their knowledge and understanding of essential learning outcomes. These conferences will also help students evaluate their performance on key standards, and in turn, accept additional responsibility for their learning.

We ask that all parents come with their student to our Student Led Conferences on March 16 at a time that works best for you according to the following schedule:

Student Led Conferences will be held from 2:45 - 4:30pm and 5:45 - 8:00pm.

Each conference should last between 20 and 30 minutes. Please come at a time that works best for you within these windows.

In addition to Student Led Conferences, if you would like to schedule a time to meet privately with your teacher, please contact the office at 801-798-4480. Times for a private conference will be scheduled for March 16 between 4:45 and 5:15pm and after 8:00pm. We are also happy to schedule a time before or after school on another day.

If you have any questions about SEP/Student Led Conferences, please contact the school office. Thank you!
