SEP Conferences
Our second SEP conferences of the year will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016. SignUpGenius was used to schedule our October and the upcoming January conferences for Kindergarten through fourth grade students. We will be following the same schedule as we did in October. For each appointment that has been scheduled, you should receive a confirmation email from SignUpGenius.

As a reminder, our fifth and sixth grade SEP conferences will be held in the lunchroom. This will accommodate the need for parents to meet with their child’s homeroom teacher as well as their math teacher. Conferences for 5th & 6th will be on a first come, first serve basis.

If you have any questions or concerns about conferences or the schedule, please call the school at 801-798-4480. Our office staff will be happy to help however possible

Sierra Bonita School Musical
Sierra Bonita is proud to present this year’s Musical, Disney’s The Little Mermaid! Evening performances will take place on March 24-25. If you have questions about the musical, please contact Kristin Jenkins, second grade teacher and play director.

Temperature, Air Quality & Outside Activities
School personnel will monitor the weather, temperature, and air quality each day to determine whether or not to have outside, choice, or inside activities.  The Department of Air Quality has a web page that provides the “current conditions” of air quality for Utah County. You can find this information at We will work to follow temperature and air quality guidelines that allow students to benefit from outdoor exercise when appropriate and to provide indoor protection when outdoor activities are not recommended for all students.

Darth Vader

Submitted by janna.slye on Fri, 12/18/2015 - 13:13

Sierra Bonita Elementary had an unexpected visitor this week. Darth Vader from Star Wars came to the school and challenged Alo Tauaese to a lightsaber duel.  Alo defeated Darth Vader in a hard fought battle. However, the real excitement was when Darth Vader presented Star Wars tickets to him. It was a fun day for Alo and for Sierra Bonita students and staff.

This year Sierra Bonita's Student Council is doing things a little different.  Sixth grade Student Council members are creating a video for Friday morning announcements. Students are able to watch these announcements in their classrooms. This has been a fun activity for both the student council members and students.

All Friday morning announcements can be found at the following YouTube link.

Hour of Code

Submitted by janna.slye on Wed, 12/16/2015 - 15:19

All students at Sierra Bonita were able to participate in Hour of Code, a global program promoting computer science. Hour of Code week was kicked off with a great assembly with Cathi Ogden, a engineering manager at Symantec. She encouraged students to follow their dreams and generated some enthusiasm for computer science. Throughout the week students were introduced to computer programming through simple coding tutorials. A huge thank you to all those who contributed to this successful event.
