How did the Halloween parade start? My heart was pounding like crazy! I was soooooo excited! I could tell that my classmates felt the same way. They were jumping up and down and kept saying “I’m so excited!” We walked into the hall and sat down. Loud music played as the Halloween parade came our way. I saw funny costumes like a banana, a crayon, and a vending machine with real candy inside! One of my classmates was dressed up as a candy corn witch. She had a tall and wide black hat with the candy corn colors and also a long, black dress with the candy corn colors. My teacher, (Mrs.

 Father/Daughter Fall Festival 

The Father/Daughter Fall Festival will be held tomorrow, November 1st, from 6:30-8:00pm, at the school. There will fun activities such as a cake walk, bean bag toss, photo booth ($1 charge for a 5x7 keepsake photo), and more. If your dad can't make it, no problem! Bring your grandpa, uncle, big brother, neighbor, family friend or even your mom! We look forward to a fun evening! Hope to see you all there! 

It's Red Ribbon week, and this year we are focusing on not being a bully and being a 'Bully Buster' (someone who doesn't let others bully). Be A Buddy NOT A Bully! To kick off Red Ribbon Week, students came to school on Monday with 'Crazy Hair"! As you can see, our students were very creative!

Miss Utah Outstanding Teen 2013, Jessie Kate, came to visit the 2nd grade. She read us a story and told us that everyone is different and that's OK. She also played the violin and could play all the Disney songs. Her violin's name is Sam.

This past week during morning announcements, our Student Council has been giving out clues to see who could guess this week's teacher spotlight. The student who guessed this week's teacher spotlight also happens to be in her class! Good job Carter! Here are the top 10 reasons why her class loves her so much:

On our first field trip we went to Jaker's Pumpkin Patch and Farm Field days.  First we went to the pumpkin patch.  We got to pick a pumpkin, play in the corn pit, and walk through a haystack maze.  Then we rode the busses to a park to eat lunch.  After we ate lunch we played on the playground.  Next, we went to the farm to learn about animals and eating healthy food.  We even got to meet Miss Mathews horse named Big Daddy. After that we got on the bus and went back to school.  It was a good field trip.

On Friday, September 27th, Miss Utah and students from Maple Mountain High School hosted an assembly for students at Sierra Bonita.  Miss Utah’s platform, “get up and get involved” was the focus of the assembly.  MMHS students shared what they do to “get up and get involved.”  Miss Utah was beautiful and inspiring and Sierra Bonita students loved hearing her message.  The highlight was hearing how some of MMHS students knew Sierra Bonita’s own Mr. Myles Peterson and the great guy he is!

Mr. Loreen is one of our awesome 6th Grade teachers here at Sierra Bonita Elementary. When asking his class what they love most about him, they came up with this top 10 list:
