SEP Conferences - Thursday, February 23rd

Submitted by tiffany.manwaring on Wed, 02/22/2017 - 13:38

Hi Parents!

Our SEP conferences will be held this Thursday, February 23rd.  These will be student led conferences so there will be no sign-ups for this conference.

We recommend that those whose last name that starts with A-L to come any time from 3:30-5:30 and M-Z to come any time between 6-8.  We understand that this time does not work for everyone so if you need to come to the other session that is fine.  We are just trying to prevent too much congestion.  Teachers will be eating dinner from 5:30-6pm.

Our book fair will also be open during our student led conferences from 3-9pm.

We hope to see you there!

Read Across America

Submitted by tiffany.manwaring on Wed, 02/22/2017 - 11:32

Dear Parents,

It’s the time to read, read, READ!

This following week February 27 – March 3, 2017, we will be celebrating

“Read Across America” at Sierra Bonita Elementary and Dr. Seuss’ Birthday on Thursday, March 2, 2017. Your child’s class has set a goal of minutes they will read for the week. Please help your student do their part by reading and recording their minutes on the back of this page.

Begin recording your reading on February 27, 2017, and continue until Friday, March 3rd, 2017.  Please return the tracking sheet to their teacher Monday, March 6, 2017.

For those classes who meet their reading goal, we will have an “Ice Cream” party on Friday, March 10, 2017.

If you have any questions concerning “Read Across America” week at Sierra Bonita, please contact your teacher for specific goals and activities.

We look forward to celebrating reading with your students.

Thanks for all your support.

Book Fair Contest

Submitted by tiffany.manwaring on Wed, 02/15/2017 - 12:53

The PTA Book Fair Contest is due This Friday, February 17th at the end of the school day. I have attached the form to this email as well. If your student would like to participate, they need to create a picture from a scene or cover of their favorite book. They need to turn it in at the office by Friday, February 17th. The PTA will use the pictures to create a mural at the school. Two winners from each grade level will be chosen to receive a free book from the Book Fair!

Best Regards,
Sierra Bonita PTA
