Hello Parents!
I want to express my sincere appreciation to you for your continual support for Sierra Bonita Elementary. The outpouring of support for our Sing Around the Tree events was amazing. Your children performed so remarkably well, which helped us all to experience the joy of the season. It is such a privilege to be part of your children’s and families’ lives, especially during this special time of the year.
As a school, we have thoroughly enjoyed the school year so far and look forward to experiencing the same success the second half of the year. We thank you for all you do for children and for our school.
We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Mike Larsen

Student Council Food Drive
Thank you for all of your generous donations to our Student Council Food Drive. The food drive was very successful, and your generous donations assisted many Sierra Bonita families and families throughout the community.

Sierra Bonita School Musical
Sierra Bonita is proud to present this year’s Musical, Disney’s Aladdin! Performances will be March 25-27. Fifth and sixth grade students are invited to audition and participate in the play. Auditions will be held after school, January 8-9, from 3:30-4:30pm, on the stage of the auditorium. Students will be able to sign up for a time to audition in Mrs. Hightower’s room. During auditions, students will be asked to sing 30 seconds of any song of their choice and read selected lines from the script. These lines will be available to pick up in Mrs. Hightower’s room the week of auditions. There is a $25 fee for cast members due at the parent meeting on January 16. Practices will be held every Tuesday and Thursday in January/February and every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday in March. If you have any questions, please contact the school. Thank you.

Temperature, Air Quality & Outside Activities
School personnel will monitor the weather, temperature, and air quality each day to determine whether or not to have outside, choice, or inside activities.  The Department of Air Quality has a web page that provides the “current conditions” of air quality for Utah County. You can find this information at We will work to follow temperature and air quality guidelines that allow students to benefit from outdoor exercise when appropriate and to provide indoor protection when outdoor activities are not recommended for all students.
