Praise Notes - March 17, 2023

Every Friday, "Praise Notes" are read during morning announcements. These students are called to the office and get their picture taken. Students can earn a "Praise Note" by being caught doing kind things throughout the school and classrooms.

UVU Brain Fair

Submitted by tiffany.manwaring on

We want to invite parents and their children to attend their annual brain fair on Saturday, April 8th from 10am-12pm at Utah Valley University in the Liberal Arts (LA) building hallway.

The fair will provide an opportunity for children of all ages to learn about the brain, neurons, and our senses through various activity stations set up by UVU undergraduate students under psychology faculty mentorship. This is a great opportunity for parents to engage their children in science education and expand their knowledge about the human brain.

Pi Day News

At Sierra Bonita Elementary in Spanish Fork Utah, the STEM/Music Specialty teacher, Mrs. Amy Van Dyke, has put on a Pi digit competition for the last 4 years for the 3rd, 4th and 5th graders.  This fun competition inspired kids to memorize as many pi digits as they could to earn a pie.  The top winners get a large pie and a little pie of their choice, and the other participants who memorize a base amount per grade get a small pie - 30 digits for 3rd grade, 40 digits for 4th grade and 50 digits for 5th grade.  30-40 kids participate each year.
