Submitted by tiffany.manwaring on

Congratulations to the following students for being recognized as our "Terrific Kids"! These students were selected by our school to receive a Kiwanis "Teriffic Kids" Award given by the Spanish Fork Kiwanis Club. Each year the Kiwanis Club recognizes outstanding 6th grade students from elementary schools in Spanish Fork and Salem for their contribution to the school and community. Their criteria for a Terrific Kid is one who is: Thoughtful, Enthusiastic, Respectful, Responsible, Inclusive, Friendly, Inquisitive, and Capable; hence, TERRIFIC.

Dear Parents/Guardians:

As you may have heard, Governor Herbert and State Superintendent Sydnee Dickson have extended the “soft school closure” until the end of the school year.  Although we are disappointed that we will not be able to work with students in our usual manner, we understand why the decision was made and fully support them.  That being said, we now will need to address a variety of very unique situations.

Library Books Due - May 1st (or sooner if you can)

Submitted by tiffany.manwaring on

Hello Awesome students and parents, we hope you are doing well.  We are looking forward to seeing you again soon.  We miss you all so much.

Every year we like to have all library books returned by May 1st so that we can do our inventory.  This year is not different.  We would like to encourage you all to return your regular library books and take home library books if you have them.  There will be a bin between the front doors of the school that you can drop them in.  This bin is there now and will be there each school day between 8-3.

The Great Utah Shake Out - April 16, 2020

Submitted by tiffany.manwaring on
The Great Utah Shake Out Earthquake Drill is scheduled for April 16, 2020. The State is encouraging students and their families to participate in a home earthquake drill.  If participating in this drill is possible to incorporate into the curriculum teachers are preparing for students, I have attached a couple of handouts to help with instruction.  More information can be found at www.shakeout.org/utah.  It may be fun for the students to take pictures of their family holding a drill.  I would love to see the photos.
