Hello Students of Sierra Bonita,
2014 marks the 200th Anniversary of our National Anthem. Monday, February 3rd, we will be holding a school-wide assembly at 9:00a.m. (right after morning announcements) in celebration of the National Anthem. We encourage you to wear Red, White and Blue this day.
Crystal Apple Award
Mr. Jeff Loreen is this year’s recipient of the Crystal Apple award. Mr. Loreen teaches 6th grade and according to his team, has a “magical” rapport with his students. When asked why students love Mr. Loreen, this is their response:
“You’re a wonderful teacher because you make me laugh so hard! Even though you are billions and billions of years old, you are still a great teacher cause age doesn’t matter.” Mylee

Do you have school spirit? Show us how much by dressing up each day. One winner from each class will be selected each day to come to the office for a picture.
Monday - "Jersey Day" - Show us who your favorite team is by wearing their jersey.
Tuesday - "Blast from the Past Day" - Dress up from a different Era.

During the month of January students will be learning about how to be responsible. Please discuss the saying, “If you don’t take care of your own things- then who will!” with your student. We hope that by doing this that your students accept and take responsibility for their own actions at home and at school.
It Pays To Read!!! Students at Sierra Bonita received a raffle ticket for turning in their reading minutes. The more they read, the more raffle tickets they received to enter for prizes and the possibility of shooting hoops for cash at the 'It Pays To Read' assembly. We also had the fun opportunity to have BYU's Baseball Pitching Coach, Mr. Jeremy Thomas attend the assembly. Coach Thomas also has two children that are currently attending Sierra Bonita! He brought along with him two of his BYU's baseball players, Hayden Nielson (Shortstop) and Jerrett Jarvis (catcher).
