Walk for Life

Sierra Bonita fifth-grade students had the opportunity to participate in the “Walk for Life” project designed by Spanish Fork City, the Spanish Fork/Salem Chamber, and American Legion. Over 1,200 students in 13 elementary schools were invited to the May 17 and 18 educational day. Students were educated at eight different stations where Veterans shared stories of their service.

The morning began with a patriotic Flag Ceremony. The students came prepared with a name of someone in their family who is or was a Veteran and walked for them. This special name was written on a “dog tag” and placed on the “Wall of Honor” with their service and a small memorial page. The day ended with a patriotic closing with the Retirement of the Colors.

Thank you to all the Veterans, past and present, for your service.
