Congratulations to Mr. Myles Peterson on receiving Teacher of the Year Award!

Mr. Peterson, a 6th grade teacher at Sierra Bonita, has been teaching in the Nebo School District for 10 years. He graduated from Utah State University and earned his degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. Mr. Peterson loves to see students succeed through leadership and 21st century skills.

Mr. Larsen describes Mr. Peterson as a person who “cares deeply about helping students succeed academically, socially, and in receiving a wealth of leadership skills. He not only provides learning opportunities within his classroom, he extends learning experiences to students before school, through technology and social media, and even through communication. Mr. Peterson also visits with state legislators at Sierra Bonita and on Capitol Hill. He brings innovation and energy to teaching and learning that not only has a positive impact on his students, but on our entire school community.”

Mr. Peterson’s colleagues love working with him. “He is organized, fun to be around, and is always flexible when needed” said Miss Cope. “He is always looking to improve his way of teaching and looking for ways to integrate technology to ensure his students are prepared for the world we live in. He is always willing to share his ideas to help better those around him as well.”

Sierra Bonita is lucky to have such a talented and gifted teacher.
