Our fantastically talented Mr. Myles Peterson has been giving Sierra Bonita two years of a fun and exciting competition.  And this year we are welcoming the third annual 5th and 6th grade basketball tournament! Our 5th grade girl’s championship game was between Kaitlin Dixon and Sheridan Liggett.  The championship went into overtime. No shots were made in the two minutes of overtime and sudden death approached the players. After five rounds, Kaitlin made a basket. Sheridan had one last chance to make a basket and keep the championship going. Sheridan missed her foul shot. It was a game full of hard work and sweat, but in the end, Kaitlin came out as the reigning champion.

The 5th grade boy’s championship was between Trace Jackson and Ryker Richards. Ryker was up 3-1 and in the last seven seconds, Trace shot and made a basket to bring the score to 3-2. Unfortunately for Trace, time was up leaving the victory to Ryker.

Our 6th grade boy’s championship was between Cole Rollins and Kyson Hall. The championship was speedy. Both boys put sweat and effort into this game. Cole, last year’s 5th grade champion, took a loss this year to Kyson with a final score of 5-3.

The 6th grade girl’s championship included Addison Huff and Brianna Farnsworth. This game was filled with hard work, time, and effort. Each of the girls played fantastic! However, with room for only one winner, we want to congratulate Brianna with a score of 4-2.

We spent eight days doing the basketball tournament. We want to congratulate the 4 winners! Kaitlin Dixon is the 5th grade girl’s champion! Ryker Richards with the win for the 5th grade boys! Brianna Farnsworth is the 6th grade girl’s champion! Last but not least, Kyson Hall with the 6th grade boy’s championship title! We want to thank and congratulate every participant in the third annual Sierra Bonita Basketball Tournament. Again we want to thank Mr. Peterson for making this possible.
