The Ice Bucket Challenge, a viral sensation, has helped raise awareness and funds for ALS, a disease more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s.  Former Boston College baseball captain and ALS patient, Pete Frates was diagnosed when he was just 27 years old.  He and his family helped the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge go viral, raising millions of dollars for the ALS Association research fund.

Friday at Sierra Bonita’s opening assembly, staff members including Principal Mike Larsen, took the Ice Bucket Challenge.  Students watched as gallons of water and ice soaked each nominee.  Many Nebo School District personnel were then nominated to take the Ice Bucket Challenge.  Sierra Bonita is looking forward to seeing the challenge accepted!
