Students had a great assembly about bullying and ways to help each other. Students were told a story about The Three Chairs.

Chair #1: Good Example, helps others, takes the roll of "Roll Model/Witness/Example/Positive Leader"

Chair #2: Unsure, tends to follow chair #1, takes the roll of "Target". Targets cannot help being targeted. They are NOT at fault. They are NOT responsible for being targets. However, they can choose not to act like a victim. If a bully demands their lunch money, they don’t have to give it to him. If the bully wants to make them cry, then can hold their head up and be defiant. It takes courage to do the right thing.

Chair #3: Teases, unkind, takes the roll of the "Bully". A bully needs both a victim and spectators (audience). Change the bully, the bullying stops. If spectators step in to support the target, the bullying stops. If the target refuses to be a victim, the bullying stops (at least with this example).
