The students at Sierra Bonita Elementary recently participated in a Penny Wars fundraiser for students in Cambodia. The students first participated in a presentation given by Carina Ream about the students in Cambodia. She shared with the students that all of the money raised would be going to purchase school uniforms. Carina let the students know that in Cambodia children cannot attend school without a uniformand got them excited to help raise money . The students were also motivated to bring their pennies by competing as grade levels in a school wide competition. 4th grade along with Mrs. Snyder's class ended up winning the competition and were able to participate in a root beer float party. It was amazing to watch the students at Sierra Bonita so willing to help during our fundraiser. Altogether we were able to raise around $1000.
