Take Home Library Summer Hours

We are excited to announce our Take Home Library will be open one day a week during the summer months!

Starting June 5th, every Wednesday from 9am to 11am Mrs. Nielsen will be at Sierra Bonita Elementary to allow any student a time to check out books!

This is a great opportunity for any student in any grade, as we have reading levels A to Z. Students will get a new take home bag and pass off chart. Reading levels will be based off what teachers have them at currently, and will be changed based on parental feedback.

I Hope we can make this opportunity a great success. We want our Sierra Bonita Bears to have many reading adventures and prevent the “summer slide” alongside all your family fun.

Thank you for your support,

Mrs. Nielsen

Hello Sierra Bonita Parents,

We'd like to thank you for your support this year. Your willingness to volunteer and contribute helps us make a big difference at Sierra Bonita.

As the school year comes to an end, we'd like to bring a few items to your attention:

1- You can make significant impact next year by volunteering to co-chair a committee. It has been difficult to find volunteers for some of our activities this year. If you'd like a particular activity to continue to happen at our school, please sign up. We simply cannot do it all without your help!

2- If you made any purchases for PTA-sponsored activities this year, please submit all receipts by May 24th for reimbursement.

3- Please take a couple minutes to complete the following survey. We value your input and feedback.

4- We're still in need of a few more volunteers for Field Day this week. Please sign up if you're available to help.

Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Hope of America is a patriotic celebration which always includes honoring the military, those who served and those currently serving.

Sierra Bonita fifth and sixth grade students had the opportunity to participate in this years Hope of America program. Sierra Bonita is in white T-shirts.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Sara Pratt for over seeing this program for our students from start to finish.

Teacher Requests / Concerns

Dear Sierra Bonita Parents,

As we look forward to next year, I am no longer accepting parent requests for teachers. Instead, I will have forms available in the office the last two weeks of school that you are welcome to fill out. These forms will allow you to tell me students who should not be together in the same class and also any needs or concerns your child has as I consider their teacher and placement for the next year.

As always, you are welcome to come in and visit with me about any concerns you may have as well. This change has come because of the large volume of students in our school and because of Kindergarten registration being so much later in the year. Your input is important to me and I will continue to value your needs and concerns for your students. Forms will be available in the front office on Monday, May 13th until May 23rd.

Sincerely,

Mr. Andersen

Every Friday, "Praise Notes" are read during morning announcements. These students are called to the office and get thier picture taken. Students can earn a "Praise Note" by being caught doing kind things throughout the school and classrooms.

Talent Show with Mrs. Burrell! (Music Teacher)

Dear parents and guardians,

It is that time again! We are going to squeeze one more talent show in before the year is over!

I have been asking students to sign up if they are interested but it is not too late if your student would still like to participate and did not get a chance to sign up! I have only asked those who are in 2nd - 6th grade to sign up. There will be a separate activity for those in Kindergarten or first grade that same week. So, if your student is in 2nd - 6th grade, I have made a list of the estimated amount of time that your students will be allowed to present their talent. This is just the max amount of time, they don't have to take all of it if they don't want. (The times are all so different because of the number of students who signed up, we only have 30 minutes. I wish we had more!) I have also listed the time and day that each class will be in music. If your students class is not listed, they will not be in music next week due to other activities.

Parents are welcome to attend.
